The 43rd winner of the St Leger, held on Monday 21st September 1818 over the St Leger course of Town Moor, was Reveller, a bay colt by Comus out of Rosette, owned by Mr Henry Peirse, trained at Tupgill, Middleham by John Lonsdale and ridden by Bob Johnson. A field of 21 runners contested the race, although there were 51 subscriptions of 25 guineas each, which was worth 1275 Guineas. (Equivalent to £105,900 in 2017) REVELLER SR 2064 |

After Ranter, Octaviana and The Marshal were alloed to bowl along in front right to the distance, Reveller then took it up readily and won with a good deal to spare. The winner ran 17 times in his career, winning 14 and coming second on the other 3 occasions. As well as the St Leger victory he also won the Doncaster Stakes in 1819, the Lancaster Gold Cup in both 1821 and 1822, the Lincoln Gold Cup in 1821 and the Preston Gold Cup in 1822 and again in 1823. | Over Round 117% | ||
